We need change. We need to re-invest in our communities and we need to stay true to our community values. I want to get back to where the Sheriff’s office is a good partner with County Commissioners, City Council, and community organizations. We must come together, help each other, and make a better Travis County.
I have worked in law enforcement for the last 34 years and I love what I do. I care about our community and I am totally committed. I am the only candidate in this race who is an elected law enforcement officer who has successful managed two county law enforcement agencies – Chief of Investigation for the Travis County District Attorney’s Office and Constable for Precinct Three. I’ve managed offices, balanced budgets, and rebuilt trust in our community.
Law enforcement faces a huge challenge to rebuild trust and cooperation in our community, especially in our communities of color. I am committed to building partnerships and bridging the gap. I have the education, training, and experience to address this challenge.
As Travis County Sheriff I will do everything in my power to develop strong partnerships that protect and serve you. Together, we can rebuild trust amongst immigrant communities and communities of color, make assault family violence cases a priority, end the school to prison pipeline, and end the criminalization of mental illness.
I ask for your support and vote.
