Sally Hernandez, Constable

2016 Primary Election Statement

“Amazing” is the first word that I thought about the day after the primary election. The final results are in and I am humbled that Travis County voters have chosen me to be their Democratic nominee for Travis County Sheriff.

I am very thankful for the amazing support I received from my supporters and family. I would like to give a special thanks to my campaign team: Jovita Pardo, Pedro Villalobos, Andre Treiber, Katie Naranjo, Lonnie Williams, Jen Ramos, Logan Holmes, Chris Gramberg, Jordan Wise, and Jason Taper.

As your Sheriff, I will be a champion for our progressive values. I will end the voluntary compliance with ICE, de-criminalize mental illness, prioritize assault family violence investigations, take truancy prevention programs countywide, and implement a uniform cite and release program for possession of marijuana offense.

Throughout the next few months, I look forward to seeking your input on how we can bring our communities together and bring change to our county law enforcement agency.

Together we started in December. Together we crossed the finish line in March. Together we will be victorious in November.
